The Comparative Analysis on Space Research of Human Geography and Sociology: Consensus, Difference and Common Problems

The space research of human geography and sociology are two paths of the social space researches. Two subjects of space studies both recognize social space and regard social and spatial dialectical relation as the core of analysis. But there are differences between them. Human geography is space science, while sociology puts the space perspective into social theories. Interdisciplinary consensus and differences are the foundation and developing power of social space theory. Discussions on social space have problems which we need to pay attention to, such as social-space separatist tendency and the neglect of time. These problems block up the development of social space researches and become the common problems that geography and sociology have to face.
