| Abstract: | Pearl S. Buck and Xiao Hong are two female writers of different countries. In their masterpieces The Good Earth and The Field of Life and Death, they portrayed the typical images of women of modern China in different writing style, and presented their miserable destiny; at the same time, the writers also eulogized their character of kind, industrious, firm and resourceful and the startling willpower in struggling in the male society. In this paper, the author will make a comparison of the images of O-lan and Wangpo to reveal their generality and individuality. In fact, their distinctions had formed the immortal images in the literature gallery. |
