“工具沉迷与使用理性”的对决——美国对网络媒体使用成瘾的研究综述

网络作为全新的传播媒体,以其融合性、互动性优势大有取代传统媒体之势,成为受众接受信息和娱乐的最重要工具之一。但是媒体使用中的问题也接踵而至,其中最受关注的就是网络成瘾。本文选取上世纪90年代以来国外研究网络成瘾的部分文章进行内容分析,发现学术界目前对于＂网络成瘾＂的研究主要集中在网络成瘾的定义、类型及症状表现、诊断标准、网瘾的易患人群及成瘾后果探讨等几个方面,但是对网瘾发生的深层原因及如何理性地使用网络媒体的研究却很少,也成为学界以后的研究方向。

"Addiction to Instrument" vs. "Rationality in Using": A Review of US Research on Internet Addiction

As a new medium of communications boasting comprehensiveness and real-time interaction,the Internet is replacing the traditional media and becoming one of the most important tools of information and entertainment.Meanwhile,problems have risen in its use,of which the most notable is the Internet addiction.This paper,based on an analysis of relevant studies outside China since the 1990s on the problem,finds that the previous research has been focusing on such issues as the definition,types and respective symptoms,diagnostic standards,susceptible populations and aftereffects of Internet addiction,but little has been done on the underlying reasons for it and constructive suggestions on its rational use.These will be important topics for future studies in this field.
