Four masters in late Qing Dynasty is not only the ending of traditional Ci theory but also the beginning of modern that.They took the throne of Ci creation and took the lead in the poetic world in their times.Their initiation in Ci theory and reforms in Ci writing had great achievements and influence on Ci studies.For one thing,they impelled the revival of Ci studies and made it a magnificent end relying on their creative accomplishments,Ci poetic thought and activities.Simultaneously they exhorted and promoted newer comers,as a result,had set up a new force for modern and contemporary times.In a word,they performed deeds of valor at Ci poetic development.
