| 摘 要： | 詹姆斯十分关注自杀,在他的18篇长篇小说中有多处描写自杀现象。他小说中的自杀从形式上可分为肉体的和象征性的;从态度上分为有意的、不朽的和犯罪的;从原因上还分为自私的、利他的、缺规的和狂乱的。这些自杀不仅在文学层面上有重要的意义,还在哲学、心理学,特别是在社会学层面具有特殊的意义。从社会学视野来审视自杀,可以看出詹姆斯小说中的自杀与社会趋势相适应,自杀的男性多于女性,单身的多于已婚的。

| Abstract: | Suicide is paid more attention by Henry James.Suicides in Henry James' fiction can be divided into physical and symbolic suicides in form, attention getting, immortality guaranteeing, and guilt provoking aspects of suicide in attitude, and egoistic, altruistic, anomic, and maniacal categories in effect.Suicides in Henry James' fiction have special and important significance in literature as well as in philosophy,psychology and sociology. |
