试论王忠嗣御边

唐朝的民族政策较为成功,但唐朝几乎没有停顿过与周边少数民族的冲突、战争。由于唐王朝的外在威胁主要来自北方,唐朝的外务一直以北方为重点,而西北则是重要的一环。玄宗时期,吐蕃成为唐朝经略西北最强悍的敌人,因此,唐朝对陇右、河西等西北地区的经略便显得格外重要,而经略西北的具体措施等又因主持西北大局的不同个人而不尽相同,王忠嗣是其中较有特色的一个,他的"持重安边"与唐中央的政策相左,也不同于当时大多数的边镇将领,却是对唐朝冒进的边疆政策的修正,符合唐朝的现实。

Analysis of Wang Zhongsi's Measures about Defending Frontier

The Tang Dynasty’s ethnic policies were relatively successful,but it didn’t mean that all the ethnic groups or regimes which were located around the Tang Dynasty could live together in peace with it.Because of the external threat from the North,the Tang Dynasty’s frontier defence was always focused on the North of its land,and the Northwest was the most important.During the period of Emperor Xuanzong,Tubo was the Tang Dynasty’s fiercest enemy in Northwest,so the Tang Dynasty’s management in the Northwest areas,such as Hexi,Longyou and some other areas,became especially important.But the concrete measures were very different among the officers-in-charge.And Wang Zhongsi was one of the most distinctive.His measures,different from the central government’s and most frontier generals’,were reality-oriented and effective.
