| 摘 要： | 语言是文化的承载体,一个民族的语言集中体现了该民族的文化特点和民族精神。因此,一国语言政策的制定、语言立法的取向必然会受其语言文化的支配。以民族优越感和使命观为价值导向、以盎格鲁—萨克逊文化为核心的美国趋同型文化有效地维护了英语的绝对权威,主宰了美国语言立法,一直以来以英语为唯一官方语言的主导倾向。

| Abstract: | The essay intends to explore contemporary American language legislation.Based on the analysis of the Anglo-Saxon culture that characterized by racial superiority and idea of mission,the essay proves that it is the mainstream ethno-culture that decides the trend of the U.S.government to take English as the official language. |
