| Abstract: | A Notice Soliciting Contributions of the New Novel Office was the first notice soliciting contributions which was of clear purpose and detailed content. It had much influence on the new novels' development and prosperity in the 20th century. The paper introduces this notice for the first time in China and analyzes its values in the history of Chinese novels. |
