唐代的移民与牡丹

唐代时，牡丹演变为观赏植物，由并州传入长安。粟特东渐，中亚园艺传入了六胡州、营州。城傍、六胡州粟特南迁黄淮、江淮时，其园艺也南传民间，又由黄淮、江淮园艺师西传长安。牡丹的传播，通过寺院园艺、民间园艺两条渠道，最后汇聚到长安，成为唐代赏花奇观。移民们带来的园艺被中原人民吸收与改进，可以说，民族融合与文化交流促进了牡丹的培育。
