The Infertility (Medical Procedures) Act 1984: A New Dimension of Legal Regulation?

Abstract:Recent legislation governing the practice of In-Vitro Fertilization indicates that the traditional regulatory role of the law has significantly expanded. This article examines implications arising from the Victorian Infertility (Medical Procedures) Act 1984 and specifically, the extent to which the law can now regulate the genetic composition of human beings.
