论儒家文化对中国古代科技发展的影响

曾居于世界领先地位的中国古代科技是在中国传统文化的背景下萌芽并发展起来的,因而必然会受到以儒家文化为主流的中国传统文化的影响。这种影响主要表现为:一是儒家的价值观影响科学研究的动机;二是儒家经典是科学研究的知识基础;三是儒家的经学方法是重要的科学研究方法。从总体上看,儒家文化对于古代科技的积极影响是占主导的。

Confucian culture''''s influence on the development of science and technology in ancient China

The development of science and technology in ancient China, which once led the world was born and grew up in the environment of traditional Chinese cultures; therefore, it was affected deeply by the Confucian culture, the main stream of the traditional Chinese culture. Those influences were revealed in the following aspects: the Confucian values influenced the motives of scientific research; the Confucian classics provided the basic knowledge for scientific research; the method of studying the Confucian classics was also the important method for scientific research. On the whole, Confucian culture's influence on the development of science and technology in ancient China can be said to be positive.
