中华博医会初期的教会医疗事业

1 8 8 6年中华博医会成立后 ,教会医疗事业进入新的发展时期。中华博医会初期 ( 1 886- 1 90 1年 ) ,教会医疗事业在新的发展环境下不断拓展。它不仅在沿海得到加强 ,而且在内地也得到较快发展。不过 ,1 9世纪末的义和团运动给教会医疗事业以沉重打击。总体而言 ,这一时期的教会医疗事业与中国社会的冲突有减少的趋势 ,并在文化交流和社会慈善等方面起了更为积极的作用

In 1886,China medical missionary association was established. After this, medical missionary enterprise developmented into a new period. In the first period of china medical missionary association, all parts of medical missionary enterprise developed quickly under the new environments. It was not only enhanced in coast area, but also developed quickly in interior area. But, it was beated heavily by Bower movement. All in all, the collision between medical and Chinese society has a tendance to decline in this period; at the same time, medical missionary enterprise took a more active effect on cultural exchang and social philanthropy.
