| 摘 要： | 不少人以为英语“主谓宾”结构都可以转变成被动句,而且语态转换不会改变句子的基本意义。但实际情况却不然。不仅有许多“主谓宾”结构没有被动语态,而且许多语句经过语态转换就会引起较大的语义变化。据此本文对英语语态问题进行深入地探讨,提出英语主、被动语态之间存在着语义不对称现象,并对此进行简要的分析。

| Abstract: | It is taken granted that all English SVO constructions can be converted into their passive counter-parts,with their basic meaning remaining unchanged.In fact the truth is quite contrary.On the one hand,quite a lot of SVO constructions have no passive equivalences,nd on the other hand,some passive conversions do show semantic asymmetry in the semantic alternation.The paper makes an analysis on the issue of English active/passive voices,with a focus on the semantic asymmetry between the two voices. |
