"博综马郑,勿畔程朱"——翁方纲的学术思想及其治学特点

乾嘉时期,古学复兴,汉学成为学术重心。翁方纲虽生值此时,但治学路数颇与当时汉学诸人不同。 他学宗程朱,重视义理,强调考据要以义理为指归。为了防止宋学易流于空虚的弊端,他又讲求训诂考据,主张以 考据来补宋学之空疏。这成为当时理学自我调节的一个重要的方面。然而,学术宗旨的不同仍旧使翁方纲与汉学 诸人在研治经典的视角上产生了"求理"与"求真"的差别,汉、宋双方的分歧依然难以调和。

Absorb in Ma, Zheng and Obey Cheng, Zhu--Weng Fanggang's Academic Thought and Research Characteristic

During the reign of Qianlong and Jiaqing, Han Xue school became the mainstream of the academic circle. As a scholar of this period, Weng Fanggang's research was different from the contemporary Han Xue scholars. He viewed scholar should pay great respect to Cheng Zhu, and textual criticism should be guided by philosophy. At the same time, Weng Fang-gang suggested Song Xue school must absorb the merit of textual criticism in order to make up for its emptiness. This is an important aspect which Song Xue school adjusted itself. However,because of the distinction of academic doctrine between Weng and Han Xue scholars, they still made a difference: in search of philosophy or truth. The contradiction between Han Xue and Song Xue was still hard to regulate.
