| 摘 要： | 《藻海无边》是简.里斯为《简.爱》里面罗切斯特的被关在阁楼上的疯妻子所写的故事。小说中充满了对各种死亡的描写,有人或动物的形形色色的死亡,也有人物精神的崩溃,也就是疯癫———就是已经到场的死亡,以及最后女主人公必然的死亡。在这一系列死亡的意象背后表现的是一个阶级的没落和帝国主义强势话语下一个女人的生存困境。

| Abstract: | Wide Sargasso Sea is written for Rochester's mad wife in Jane Eyre.Death images are pervasive in this novel,including death of human beings and animals,the protagonist's turning crazy and then choosing death.Behind these images the deterioration of a class and the dilemma a woman has experienced in a colonial world are manifested. |
