论现代性中的合理性

在现代性语境中,“合理性”是一个被频繁使用而涵义复杂的概念:它既可以被理解为“合乎理性”,也可以被理解为“合情合理”。二者虽有差异和冲突,但都能在现代性中得到论证。而这是由于现代性自身的悖论造成的。因为尽管现代性承认人的理性并要求人“合乎理性”地思考和行动,但不同的人会不同地理解理性,并且不同地运用理性,结果只能导致现代性及其合理性的自我瓦解和否定。从这个意义上讲,后现代性是现代性的必然反题。

On the Conception of Rationality in Modernity

The purpose of this paper is to make clear how the conception of rationality is used in modernity. For in modern society, there are two different opinions about Rationality, which is distinguished by some political and moral philosophers. However, what we concern are why they are so different, which one is correct, and what relations between them if both of they are products of modernity. In our opinion, human reason and its conception of rationality are not only the bases of modernity but also the causes that weaken and negate modernity itself. It is necessary for modernity to produce post-modernity.
