全球视野里的外国投资

自从第二次世界大战之后,资本的国际化运动逐步加快。到目前为止,对外投资已成为经济全球化中的一股重要力量。虽然大多数人相信,外国投资者并不关心东道国的社会发展,并且常常将东道国的社会发展状况与投资决策脱钩,然而实际上,这两者之间的关系很复杂。本文通过研究跨国公司对发展中国家的投资,对跨国投资与东道国的社会进步两者之间的关系做一些推测性的检验和考虑。我们认为,外国投资趋于提高发展中国家的社会发展状况,这或者是跨国公司自身活动的一个直接结果,或者是投资所导致的状况改善的一个间接结果,或者两者兼而有之。

A Global Perspective of Foreign Investment

Ever since the Second World War, the international flow of capital has been accelerating gradually. By far, foreign direct investment has become an important force for economic globalization. Though it is well believed that foreign investors don't care about the social development of the host country which receives the investment and often separate their investment decision from the social development of it, but in fact, the relationship between these two things is very complicated. By exploring the investment of the multinational firms to the developing coun-tries, we make some conjectures and considerations on the relationship between the inter-country investment and the social development of the host country. We argue that foreign investment tends to improve the social development of the developing countries, which is perhaps a direct result of the activities by the multinational firms, or the indirect result of the situational improvement effected by the investment, or both.
