论述姓名作为社会语言和文化的产物,包含了大量的宗教、传统、风俗等文化信息,集中体现了民族的特点,文学作品中的人名更是作者精心构思和设计的。因此,在翻译过程中,应灵活运用翻译策略减少姓名中文化内涵的遗失和亏损,从而提高读者们对作品内涵和作者意图的理解和感悟。文章将从翻译文化观的角度,通过分析托妮·莫里森的作品《最蓝的眼睛》来说明翻译姓名所包含的文化隐意的重要性,并且结合众多的翻译经验总结出可行的解决策略。

The translation about cultural information of names in The Bluest Eyes based on cultural translation theory

As the product of language and culture, names contain much culture information, such as religion, tradi- tion, custom and so on, which reflects the national characteristics. The names in literatures are designed by the au- thors elaborately. Thus,the translation strategies should be used flexibly and suitably to reduce the loss of the cultur- al information to improve the readers＇ comprehension about the works and the authors＇ intention. This thesis, based on the cultural translation theory, analyzes the names in The Bluest Eyes written by Toni Morrison to illustrate how important and essential the translation of names＇ implication is, and proposes feasible solutions.
