摘 要: | 词汇是英语学习成功的关键,词义在词汇习得和提取中起着重要作用。认知语言学家认为语言符号的形式和意义之间存在着生理、心理和认知等方面的动因,即语言具有认知理据性。英语词汇的认知理据性主要表现在语音、形态、语义和词源四大方面,这为从人的认知心理规律出发进行英语词汇教学提供了理论基础和可能性,有助于提高英语词汇教学的效率和质量。

Abstract: | Vocabulary is the key to successful English learning;meaning plays an important role in lexical acquisi- tion and access. Cognitive linguists hold that the form and the meaning of a linguistic sign are physiologically, psy- chologically or cognitively related, which is demonstrated by the fact that English words are phonetically, morpholog- ically, semantically or etymologically motivated. This makes it theoretically possible for English teachers to teach vo- cabulary according to human cognitive and psychological features, and helps to improve the efficiency and quality of English vocabulary teaching. |
