从不同角度对委婉语进行的探讨和分析一直方兴未艾。基于关联理论和顺应论之上的关联一顺应模式从特定的角度将关联理论中的明示一推理过程和顺应论中的语言选择顺应过程有机结合起来分析交际过程中的委婉语。根据此模式，交际中使用委婉语的过程是依据交际语境，寻求最佳关联，顺应关联假设，从而获得最佳语境效果的过程。该模式有效地剖析了交际中选择和理解委婉语的认知机制。同时也充分凸显出动态语境对交际双方选择和理解委婉语的制约作用。

Understanding Euphemism from the Angle of Relevance and Adaptation

Studies on euphemism from different angles have been on the rise. Based on relevance theory and adaptation theory, relevance-adaptation model combines ostensive-inferential process and adaptation process systematically, according to which using and understanding euphemism is believed to be a process of seeking for optimal relevance, and adapting to the relevance assumption to achieve optimal contextual effects in communication. This model explores the cognitive mechanism of the phenomenon of euphemism in communication. Besides, it highlights restrictive influence of dynamic contexts on communicating parties.
