| Abstract: | Linguistic sign is arbitrary. The arbitrary principle is the most fundamental quality of linguistic sign. From the view of linguistic sign, the paper briefly discusses and analyzes arbitrariness, non arbitrariness and their restrictive elements for the purpose of deeper understanding and comprehension of the quality and nature of linguistic sign. |
