“差序格局”与个体主义之间的距离

20世纪初，个体主义作为一个舶来品进入中国，然而，个体主义所蕴含的道德观念与传统中国社会的“差序格局”并不相容。从五四时期的知识分子到当代普通民众，往往简化了个体主义的复杂内涵并把它用作服务于各种目标的工具。进入中国百年，个体主义至今依然作为一种他性而存在于中国社会。回顾文献，有助于我们认识西方个体主义在其历史演变过程中出现的各种相互牵涉与抵牾的支流。更深刻的认识则有待我们进一步运用民族志的研究方法，在参与观察他者的日常生活的基础上获得。
