| 摘 要： | 中国英语教育始于19世纪前期来华新教传教士开创的对华义学活动。以英华书院与马礼逊学校为代表的西式教育理念、教学内容与方法自中国社会底层造就了一批学贯东西的英语专业人才，迎合了晚清中西文化与贸易往来的客观需求，开启了中国英语教育的历史。

| Abstract: | The English education in China commenced through the free education initiated by the Protestants to China in early 19th century. The Western education ideal, teaching content and method in the Protestant schools, represented by Anglo-Chinese College and Morrison Education School had educated a group of English specialists, which met the demand from the Sino-Western cultural and commercial communication in Late Qing Dynasty and created the history of English education in China. |
