| Abstract: | An important event in HAN Yus later years was his banishment to Chaozhou, which not only brought him a unique experience of life and a considerable emotional stir, but also made a great impact on his poetry writing. Sentimentality, depression and indignation are characteristic of his works in this period. New changes are also marked by a tendency towards a plain and easy style rather than an ominous and weird one. |
