见证太原四千五百余年史——追寻中华文明的根与魂

2003年9月举办之“太原建城2500年”庆典所据之公元前497年,实为“晋阳”城首次见诸中国历史文献之年,这以后之2500年仅是“太原”历史的一部分。晋阳城史前之二千余年的太原历史则更为辉煌,金天氏封台骀于太原,尧、禹曾一度在太原的建都,以及此后太原发生之诸多历史事件,构成了一部中华民族从远古走来的生生不息完整的发展历史。太原在独具特色的中华文明形成史上曾起过巨大的作用,对这一段历史我们应当百倍珍惜。

Witnessing the History of over Four Thousand and Five Hundred Years of Taiyuan City--Tracking down the Root and Spirit of Chinese Civilization

In the September of 2003, there was a celebration of "2500 Years Founding of Taiyuan City." But it was based on the Chinese historical literature, in which the city of "Jinyang" is first mentioned in 497 B.C. However, the 2500 years afterwards is only a part of its history. The history of some over two thousand years in Taiyuan before the historical records was of greater resplendence. The events of Emperor Jintian crowning his kings in Taiyuan, the Emperors Yao and Yu once found capitals in Taiyuan, and many other historical incidents in Taiyuan, have formed parts of the whole continued developing history of the Chinese nation from ancient times. Taiyuan played a gigantic role in the formation of the unique Chinese civilization. We should greatly value such a period of history of the city.
