我国是世界上最古老的产米国之一 ,壮族是我国将普通野生稻驯化成栽培稻的民族之一。早在旧石器、新石器时代交迭之际 ,壮族的直系先人岭南越人就已经在采集和渔猎的时候驯化野生稻为人工栽培稻 ,开始了原始的稻作农业 ,成为世界上最早的稻作的人类群体之一。

China is one of the most ancient countries where rice grew first in the world, and Zhuang Nationality is one of the nationalities whose directly-related ancestors-Yue people in south of the Five Ridges (Lingnan)-managed to domesticate wild rice in the period of transition from the Old Stone Age to the New Stone Age and thus began the primitive rice-growing agriculture.
