| 摘 要： | <裸者与死者>自1948年发表起就确立了其关于二战的最佳美国小说的地位,作者梅勒借用"战争",叙写的是野心、欲望、个体力量等诸多涉及人的问题.本文着眼于士兵们在安诺波佩岛上围绕生存和成功的奋争,展示了书作者的观点,即人在与自然力量的对抗中注定要败北,热带雨林的暴雨,地质形成的阻障,和无法无规的密林把人损耗到崩溃或者死亡.

| Abstract: | The Naked and The Dead, when published in 1948, established itself as the best American novel about World War II. Employing "war" as a metaphor, Mailer wrote of personal issues of ambition, appetite and individual strength. This essay focuses its attention on man's struggle for survival and success on the island of Anopopei, revealing the view that man is doomed to failure in the conflict with natural power. Tropical storms, geographical barricades and lawless jungle exhaust man to vulnerability or death. |
