赵树理虽然在许多方面继承了传统小说观念,但他的小说创作的目的是"老百姓喜欢看,政治上起作用"的社会启蒙。和"五四"小说观念比较,赵树理超越了"五四"小说观念欧化风影响下的不注重读者接受的主观主义、个人主义,他更关心自己的小说是"为什么人"的。与建国初期"颂歌"式小说观念比较,赵树理执著地坚持为农民而歌的小说创作,坚持创作源自真实农村生活体验的"问题"小说。赵树理非常重视民间文学,他剔除了其中封建落后的思想倾向,吸收了其中明快幽默的叙事艺术技巧。所以,赵树理的小说观念是一种本着通俗化、大众化目的的兼容并蓄的小说观念。

An Analysis of ZHAO Shu-li's Ideas on Novel

Despite his inheritance of traditional novels in many respects,ZHAO Shu-li created novels for pleasure of the public as well as for political reasons which was quite different from pre-modern novels which aimed at relaxition and entertainment and from modern novels which aim at commercialized attempt to please the public.Compared with novels during the May4th Movement,ZHAO Shu-li concerned more about the readers instead of the writer's individualism and subjectivism under the influence of Europeanization.Compared with the ode-style novels during the initial postliberation period,ZHAO Shu-li persevered to write"problem novels"for farmers.As for folk literature,ZHAO Shu-li took it seriously and did away with the backward feudal ideas and absorbed in his works the lively and homorous writing skills.Generally speaking,popularization is ZHAO Shu-li's idea on literary creation.
