从会话合作原则执行情况看《沙箱》的主题建构

从语用学角度切人，运用格莱斯的会话含义理论探讨美国荒诞派剧作家爱德华·阿尔比短剧《沙箱》的主题建构。通过分析主要角色对数量准则、质量准则、关联准则、方式准则的执行情况，认为剧中人对合作原则的遵守或违反所生成的特殊会话含义表达了现代社会家庭机能失调、亲情缺失、人性冷漠、人与人无法沟通、生不如死等主题。

The Theme Construction of The Sandbox Based on the Conversational Cooperative Principle

With Grice＇s theory of Conversational implicature, this paper studies the construction of the theme in The Sandbox written by American Absurdist playwright Edward Albee. Through an analy- sis of the characters＇ observation and violation of Quantity maxim, Quality maxim, Relation maxim, Manner maxim of Cooperative principle, the paper finds that the play conveys such themes as lack of love and impossibility of communication in the dysfunctioning family, modern men＇s indifference toward each other and their no-better-than-death living condition.
