| Abstract: | ＂The greater the quality we have, the easier we can know others＇ words. ＂ This remark of Mengzi refers to an idea about the cultivation of man＇s merits,in which ＂knowing the words＂ and ＂cultivating the merits＂ have close relationship with each other. This idea had great influence on the literary style and literary thoeries of the ancient time. |
