“未来视野”与中国知识分子的“现代”焦虑

20世纪以来,中国知识分子深受社会进化论的线性时间观念影响,对于中国作为"现代性"追随者的身份颇为焦虑。作为一种象征性解决方案,"未来"被赋予了重要地位,以使中国人能够暂时摆脱现实的纠缠,并从中体会到一种更有保障的"超越感",从而减轻心灵的痛苦。问题是,中国的"现代性"焦虑的产生,更多地来自于线性时间观念本身。因此,要纾解中国的"现代性焦虑",走出追随者的地位,就必须对产生这种地位的根源加以深入反思。

The "Future Vision" and the "Modernity Anxiety" of Chinese Intellectuals

Chinese intellectuals have been acutely influenced by the linear time concept of social evolutionism since the 20th century and they are anxious about China’s identity as "modernity" follower.Acting as a symbolic solution,"the future" is given a significant status to temporarily free Chinese people from the realistic twists and experience a more guaranteed transcendental feeling so that Chinese intellectuals could ease the pain of the mind.However,the problem is that to a great extent Chinese "modernity" anxiety results from the linear time concept itself.Therefore,in order to mitigate Chinese "modernity anxiety" and step out of the follower’s status,we must give an in-depth reflection on the root cause for such a status.
