| Abstract: | This paper provides a general survey of the historical background for multicultural education, its theoretical claims and its current developments in American tertiary educational institutions. Such education values minority traditions and encourages critical thinking skills. It has made some headway in eliminating racial prejudice and promoting understanding among different ethnic groups. |
