Jichanglong Silk-filature Factory was the first capitalist firm set-up and funded by Chlnese entrepreneur in silk-f ilature industry. For qhite a long time. however,some textbooks on the modern history of China made obvious mistakes on, or neg1ected,several points such as the creator of the factory,the time of its establishment,its scale, the power for the manufacture , the reasons why it was removed to Macao and later went bankrupt. It is there fore necessary to correct some of the conventional mistakes and make clear the facts that have been ambiguous. It will be helpful for us to make further reseach in the famous Chinese funded enterprise in modern China.
