| Abstract: | Haizhou (the now Lianyungang area in Jiangsu Province) once located where the cultures of the states of Qi and Lu and the cultures of the states of Wu and Chu met was then well known for its charming and miraculous scenes of the mountains and sea,rich in local colour,legends and customs. It is believed that Li Ruzhen's masterpiece Flowers in the Mirror is greatly influenced in many ways by what is mentioned above serving either as a source of images,an inspiration for story plot weaving,or as the budding of original ideas. |
