魏晋南北朝时期是中国历史上宗族强盛的时期。宗族组织的主要形式有士族地主经营的封建庄园，以宗族为核心的流民集团及由族长控制的武装坞壁。宗族观念有三种主要倾向：重门第轻才德，重宗族轻个人，重孝悌尚复仇。宗族内部的凝聚力，源于同居共财的经济生活与保持优势的文化传统。

The Patriarchal Clans in the Period of the Wei-Jin and Northern and Southern Dynasties

Weijin and Northern and Southern Dynasties is the prosperous period of the patriarchal clan in the Chinese history. The main organizations of the clan are the feudal manor run by the literati and officialdom landlord,the refugee clique controlled by the patriarchal clan,and the armed castle commanded by the clan leader. The ideology of the clan may be summarized as follows:the patriarchal clan attach great importance to the family status ,the interest of the clan,and the filial duty;while,attach less importance to the individual,and his talent and morality. The centripetal force of the clan lies in its economy which is characterized by the clan men's living together in a family and sharing their possessions,and it advanced cultural tradition.
