On Hegel's Concept of Civil Society

Hegel endowed "civil society",the antiquated concept, with new meanings.He pictured a new social form by using the concept of civil society.In this society,the individual,as the incarnation of free will,is a substantive subject.He or she has absolute property and the right of free alienation.The goal in his or her life is self-gratification.Through market interchange mainly,they meet their needs.By way of judicature and intermediary organizations,the differences of their interests are regulated and the social order is maintained.The renewed concept of civil society by Hegel has far-reaching significance for the development of the theory of civil society.
