The Latest Development About the Crowding-out Effect of Fiscal Deficit in the Western Scholars

The crowding-out effect is an important question in fiscal theory. It has an important effect on the role that a government plays in economic activity. Different schools of economic thought have different views on this question. This paper mainly introduces the latest development about crowding-out effect of fiscal deficit which was put forward by New-Classical Macroeconomics and New Keynesianism. There is a large fiscal deficit in China because of the active fiscal policy since 1998. Whether there exists such an effect or not is a hot question in the theoretic world. So this question has important theoretic and practical meanings.
