英国工业革命时期的童工劳动

工业革命使童工劳动的范围和性质发生了巨大的变化.英国工业革命中使用童工劳动不是某一行业、某一资本家的个别现象,而是一种普遍的现象.使用童工劳动是因为机器的使用简化了劳动工序,以及劳动力缺乏,更重要的则是童工廉价.过度使用童工使童工身心受到摧残,于是出现了一个旨在保护儿童的立法运动,这些法令虽然没有从根本上禁绝童工劳动,但在保护儿童方面却有一定的积极作用.

Child Labour During the Period of the English Industrial Revolution

Industrial Revolution brought great changes to the rage and nature of child labor. During the Industrial Revolution in England, child labor was not a rare phenomenon appealing in certain particular trade or under one capitalist, but a common one. The causes for using child labor were because of the simplified preduction process brought about by the use of machine, and the shortage of labor. What was more important was that child labor was cheap. The overuse of child labor injured the children both physically and mentally, so there came a campaign to work out laws to protect the children. The laws did not prohibit the use of child labor, but functioned to some extent in protecting the children.
