| Abstract: | The process of modernization has brought forth changes in people's life style and value systems, consequently a new personality among the new generation of human beings is being constructed, which is termed as 'marginal personality'. In this paper, the definition of the 'marginal personality' is given. Characteristics and the roles they are playing in the process of modernization of Chinese people are analyzed. |
