| 摘 要： | 以功能对等原则为依据，英语明喻和暗喻具有五种译法直译法、转译法、意译法、增译法和直译意译分译法。从英汉两种语言在比喻方面表现的文化异同来说，上述五种译法不乏科学性、适用性和可行性。

| Abstract: | In the light of the principle of functional equivalence, this paper raises and discusses five approaches to translation of English simile and metaphor into Chinese. The five metbods go as follows: literal translation, change in images or vehicles, liberal translation, addition, both literal and liberal translation. By analysing the cultural similarities and differences involved in figures of speech of Chinese & English, the paper elucidates the appropriateness and feasibility of the above-mentioned methods. |
