The criticisms of Western thinkers of science and technology expressed the discontent and protest against phenomena of technological alienation. On some important issues, the trend of thought of the criticism of science and technology missed the vital part of technological alienation. Science and technology, as a rational human activity, is the instrument and means for the realization of practical goals for man. Therefore, technology is by nature neutral. The root of technological alienation lies in the human activity itself. However, we must also properly treat the significance of the limitation and rationality of the trend of thought of criticism of science and technology, maintaining a clear understanding of the negative effect of technological applications.
