论韩孟诗派的形成

Formation of Han-Meng School of Poetry

Han Yu (768 - 824) and Meng Jiao (751-814) were famous poets of the Tang Dynasty (618 - 907), and their school of poetry was formed for various reasons. Meng Jiao was the pioneer of the school, and his poetry set up an example for poetic creation. Han Yu attained his position as the leader of the literary world. and thus attracted a group of poets with similar artistic tastes,thereby playing an important role in the formation of the school. Meng Jiao strove for novelty in his creation, establishing a common aesthetic orientation of the school after it was further developed by Han Yu, In 810, the school broke up after Han Yu returned to Chang'an (Xi'an in modern times), which heralded the coming of late Tang period in the development of poetry.
