| Abstract: | This paper elaborates the historical relation between Zhang Zhidong and Wuhan University of Science and Technology (WUST), with the focus on how WUST evolved from a school founded by Zhang Zhidong. It shows that the ideas held by Zhang Zhidong on education constitute the basis of WUST's motto and guiding principles in school-running. |
