| 摘 要： | 概念隐喻认为,人类的语言是隐喻性的,隐喻无所不在。人们倾向于用隐喻的手法来表征抽象的概念因为人类的概念系统是隐喻性的,语言的隐喻表述与隐喻概念是有规律地结合在一起的。本文试图对中英死亡隐喻语句进行归类、比较,并寻求隐喻性思维的跨文化普遍性。

| Abstract: | Metaphor is the way we live by and the basis for human cognition,thinking,experience,language and even acts.It is the basic mechanism with which we construct cognitive domains and understand abstract concepts.Death,as one of the basic dimensions of our life,is also fundamentally metaphorical because people are likely to represent it metaphorically.The article is tentative to test the universal nature of metaphorical thinking by carrying out a cross-cultural study of the metaphorical representation of death in Chinese and English. |
