| Abstract: | The cultural programme of "kill demon by the will of God" of the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and that of "Chinese body and western means" of the Westernization Movement embody the peasants' instinct anti-feudalism cultural psychology of equality and average and the aspiration of the intellectuals in the Westernization Movement to strengthen the country by attaching importance to the democratic system,science and technology of western countries,which is accordingly the sprout of the programme of the old democratic culture revolution. |
