| Abstract: | The story of Shi Xiangyuan' s disguising herself as a man in Cao Xueqin' s the Red Mansions is a product of the author' s creative interpretation of the phenomenon of women dressed as boys that has a distant origin in the history of China. This interpretation also is the author's feminist point of view. |
