An Exploratory Analysis of Deng Xiaoping Theory on the Effective Combination of Science and Technology and Socialism

Science and technology is a kind of material force and technical device that gives impetus to the development of history; and socialism is a spiritual power and ideological weapon that propels history forward. To combine the both organically is the logical inevitability of Marxism. Deng Xiaoping gave a new comprehension to the nature of socialism and thereby sought a fundamental road for building the socialism with Chinese characteristics, i.e., giving rein to the advantage of socialist system, devoting major efforts to developing social productivity, relying on the process of science and technology and building the socialism with Chinese characteristics.
