略论元代屯田与民族迁徙

本文通过对元代屯田的考察 ,论述了元朝境内大量的人口流动、民族迁徙———包括汉族向边疆民族地区迁徙 ,少数民族向汉族地区迁徙 ,以及少数民族之间的迁徙。虽然元朝的统治者实行屯田的目的是为了解决军粮、开垦荒地、发展农业 ,但在客观上促进了人口的流动、民族的迁徙和边疆少数民族地区的经济发展以及民族的融合

Wasteland Reclamation and Ethnic Migration in the Yuan Dynasty

This paper examines the wasteland reclamation in the Yuan Dynasty. In particular, it deals with the population movement and ethnic migration within the territory of the Dynasty, which included the Han people's migration to the frontier and ethnic areas, the ethnic minority's migration to the Han areas, and migration between the ethnic minorities. Although the rulers of the Yuan Dynasty carried out the reclamation in order to ensure the army provisions and foster the agriculture, it promoted population movement, ethnic migration, economic development in the frontier and ethnic areas and the process of ethnic merging.
