对小说《红字》中人物角色的分析——从人际功能中的情态系统谈起

情态动词在研究语篇的人际意义中扮演着非常重要的角色。通过它,读者可以更加清楚地抓住交际的关键,更好的去理解讲话者与听话者之间的关系。本文从系统功能语法的角度,以情态系统为出发点,对小说《红字》中的典型语篇作以分析,从而把握人物角色的性格特征,进而对Halliday所提出的作为三个纯理功能之一的人际功能有了更细致的了解和掌握。此外,对这种分析的运用,在一定程度上也是促进外语教学发展的因素。

Analysis on the Characteristics of the Actors in the Novel the Scoffer Letter From the Angle of Modality of Systemic Functional Grammar

Modal verbs play an important role in the study of the Interpersonal Metafuntion of the text.According to those verbs,readers can easily get the key clues of communication and make a better understanding of the relationships between the speaker and the hearer.In this paper,from the angle of modality of Systemic-Functional Grammar(SFG),the author analyzed several typical texts in the novel The scatter letter and then made a detailed comprehension of the characteristics of the actors and the three metafunctions of SFG which was proposed by Halliday.Based on those analysis,the author believes that it can make great progress of English teaching.
