| Abstract: | An analysis of Nanmen Square shows that its functions are not given free play to and that its design does not follow the principle of variety. Owing to these deficiencies of Nanmen Square, the author puts forward some suggestions as to perfecting the functions of urban squares. The anthor suggests that multi-layered space be built up; more sitting room be provided and a cultural atmosphere be created. |
